Who we are

Clara is a care coordination app built and operated by Hedge Media Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Clara is available at claracare.co and on the Apple App Store. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@claracare.co.

What information we collect

Information you provide directly:

• Your name and email address when you create an account
• The name, date of birth and photo of the person you care for
• Care plan content, shift notes, medications, appointments, documents and other care information you enter into the app
• Team member names and email addresses you provide when inviting carers

Information collected automatically:

• Device type, operating system and app version
• App usage data such as features used and screens visited
• Error logs to help us fix bugs

Information from third parties:

• If you sign in with Apple, we receive a user identifier and optionally an email address from Apple. Apple may provide a private relay address instead of your real email address.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain and improve the Clara app, create and manage your account, enable team collaboration features, send transactional emails such as carer invitations and password resets, respond to your support requests, and understand how Clara is used so we can make it better.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.

Who we share your information with

Your care team. Information you enter into Clara is shared with the team members you invite. You control who has access.

Service providers. We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate Clara:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting
• Anthropic — AI features (document review, shift note summaries, search). Documents you submit for AI review are processed by Anthropic's API and are subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
• RevenueCat — subscription and payment management
• Apple — app distribution and Sign in with Apple

We require all service providers to protect your information and only use it to provide services to us.

Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

We will never share your information with advertisers, data brokers or anyone else for commercial purposes.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which uses encryption at rest and in transit. We follow industry best practices to protect your information. Clara is designed to hold sensitive care information. We take that responsibility seriously.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting hello@claracare.co.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion of your data, export your data in a portable format, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

If you are based in the UK or EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Clara is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The care profiles created in Clara may relate to children, but the account holder must be 13 or older.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
